SAN RAFAEL, Calif. — The San Rafael Pacifics have announced front office changes heading into the 2013 season. In addition to the new ownership trio of Eugene Lupario, Steve Allen, and Mike Shapiro, Assistant General Manager Mary Marshall has been promoted to Vice President of the team and San Rafael resident, Kim Biss, has been hired as the Pacifics Director of Sales and Marketing.
Marshall, who joined the Pacifics in 2011 after serving in a similar role with the Chico Outlaws, earned the promotion with an outstanding first season with the ballclub, announced Shapiro.
"Last season Mary proved to be invaluable in all aspects of the Pacifics business operations. We wanted to recognize her outstanding contributions to the success of this franchise and are confident in her ability to thrive in her elevated role," he said.
Marshall will oversee all sales operations including sponsorships, ticketing, group sales, and merchandise. In addition, she will manage day-to-day baseball operations.
In a corresponding move, the Pacifics hired Kim Biss to join the front office as the Director of Sales and Marketing.
"Bringing Kim on board not only brings a quality person into the Pacifics family, but also strengthens our sales and marketing department. She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience, as well as a crucial community connection to our ballclub," Lupario said.
Biss, an Atlanta native, has been involved with fundraising, event planning and graphic design since moving to San Francisco in 1979.
The Pacifics are working hard this holiday season to make plans for revamped season ticket plans as well as the scheduling for open try-outs. The team hopes to release their 2013 schedule in December.
