Sonoma Stompers Rally Past San Rafael Pacifics 6-5

June 13 2015 The Sonoma Stompers rallied past the San Rafael Pacifics 6-5 at Arnold Field, overcoming an early deficit with 11 hits and a four-run comeback. San Rafael finished with nine hits and one error, while Sonoma played errorless baseball.

The Pacifics scored four times in the first inning and added another run in the third to take a 5-0 lead. Sonoma answered with two runs in the fourth, three in the sixth to tie the game, and the go-ahead run in the seventh. The Stompers held San Rafael scoreless over the final six innings.

San Rafael’s M. Jova drove in three runs, while J. Williams went 2-for-4 with an RBI and M. Chavez reached base three times with a hit, a run and an RBI. Sonoma received two hits and two runs from J. Canseco, while D. Baptista and I. Wenrich also collected two hits each. J. Carranza and M. Hurley each drove in a run.

Sonoma’s Erik Gonsalves earned the win after allowing two hits and no runs in 2 2/3 innings, striking out two. Sean Conroy recorded the save with a scoreless ninth inning and two strikeouts. San Rafael starter M. Beatty allowed four earned runs in five innings, and Chris Lovejoy was charged with the loss after surrendering the go-ahead run in the seventh.
