Stompers Use Five Run Middle Innings to Defeat Pacifics

June 14 2015 The Sonoma Stompers defeated the San Rafael Pacifics 7-3 at Arnold Field. Sonoma broke through with three runs in the fourth inning, added one in the fifth and one in the sixth, then scored twice in the eighth to secure the victory. San Rafael scored once in each of the sixth seventh and ninth innings but could not close the gap.

Sonoma collected 12 hits, led by S. Miranda and G. Mochizuki with three hits and two RBI apiece. D. Baptista went 2-for-4 with two runs and hit a home run, while M. Hibbert added two hits, two runs and an RBI. M. Hurley also recorded two hits and scored twice. San Rafael finished with 10 hits, including two each from Z. Pace J. Bekakis M. Jova and D. Gonzalez. Bekakis homered and drove in one run, while Pace had two RBI.

Sonoma starter Mike Jackson Jr. earned the win after allowing five hits and one earned run over six innings while striking out eight and walking three. P. Hvozdovic followed with 1 1/3 innings, and Sonoma's bullpen completed the victory. San Rafael starter Nick Hudson took the loss, surrendering seven hits and four earned runs in five innings with six strikeouts and five walks.
