San Rafael Pacifics Hold Off Vallejo Admirals 9-7

June 18 2015 The San Rafael Pacifics defeated the Vallejo Admirals 9-7 after answering Vallejo’s five-run second inning with a five-run third. San Rafael added two runs in the sixth and a ninth-inning run to secure the victory, while Vallejo scored once in the fifth and once in the ninth. The Pacifics finished with 16 hits, compared with nine for the Admirals, and both teams committed one error.

Z. Pace led San Rafael with three hits, three runs and a walk. M. Jova went 4-for-5 with two runs and an RBI, while M. Chavez had two hits and two RBIs. J. Bekakis, J. Williams, D. Gonzalez, D. Kiriakos and R. Gingras each drove in a run. Vallejo’s B. Young hit a home run and collected four RBIs, and D. Sandford and M. Cerda each added an RBI.

R. DeJesus earned the win for San Rafael after allowing eight hits and six earned runs in 5.2 innings with two walks and two strikeouts. N. Hudson recorded the save with 3.1 innings of relief, allowing one run on one hit while striking out five. Vallejo starter D. Banks allowed 11 hits and six earned runs in five innings, and B. Belter took the loss after surrendering two runs in three innings.
