July 22 2015 The San Rafael Pacifics held off the Sonoma Stompers 14-13 in a high-scoring contest at Arnold Field. San Rafael collected 19 hits and overcame three errors while Sonoma finished with 16 hits and two errors.
The Pacifics struck for five runs in the first inning and added three in the fourth before breaking through for five more in the fifth to take a 13-7 lead. Sonoma answered with two runs in the sixth and four in the seventh to pull within one, but San Rafael added an insurance run in the ninth and held the Stompers scoreless in the bottom half.
Z. Pace went 4-for-5 with three runs and an RBI for San Rafael, while R. Gingras contributed three hits, two runs and four RBI, including a home run. D. Kiriakos added two hits, two runs and an RBI, including a double. Sonoma’s A. Parker went 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI and hit a home run. J. Carranza also had three hits and two RBI for the Stompers.
Nick Hudson was credited with the win for the Pacifics, Santos Saldivar took the loss for Sonoma and Michael Kershner earned the save.
