June 17 2021 The San Rafael Pacifics defeated the Monterey Amberjacks 12-6 at Albert Park, using a strong start and a three-run eighth inning to secure the victory. San Rafael scored four runs in the first inning, added one in the second, two in the fourth, and one each in the fifth and sixth before putting the game out of reach in the eighth. The Pacifics finished with nine hits while Monterey collected eight.
Ben Tsui led San Rafael’s offense, going 2-for-5 with a home run and five RBI. Michael Theisen went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI, while Brian Morley reached base four times with one hit, one run, two RBI, and three walks. Don Andre Clark scored twice, and John Murray added a hit, a run, and an RBI.
Monterey scored once in each of the first three innings before adding three runs in the fifth. Scotty Olivo had two hits and two RBI, while Issac D’Agostino and Adrian Martinez each contributed two RBI. The Amberjacks also received two hits from Olivo and doubles from Ethan Lopez, Joey Pejuan, Martinez, and Jared Fry.
Alex MacKinnon earned the win for San Rafael after allowing three hits and no runs over 3.2 innings while striking out eight and walking one. Andrew Polk took the loss for Monterey, surrendering seven runs on three hits with eight walks and four strikeouts in 3.2 innings. Angel Rodriguez also delivered a scoreless inning for the Amberjacks with two strikeouts.
