June 25 2021 The Bakersfield Train Robbers defeated the San Rafael Pacifics 17-4 after collecting 17 hits and scoring in five innings. Bakersfield took a 2-1 lead in the first, added a run in the second and broke the game open with five runs in the fifth and eight more in the seventh. San Rafael scored twice in the fourth and once in the eighth but could not keep pace.
Justin Carey led the Train Robbers with three hits, three runs and three RBI. Dakota McFadden also had three hits and drove in two runs, while Alex Cornell had two hits and two RBI. Cameron Stimpson hit a home run and finished with two RBI. Bakersfield also received two hits and an RBI from Malcolm Smith and two RBI from Clifford Guerrero.
Zach Devon earned the win after throwing two scoreless innings with two hits allowed one walk and four strikeouts. Dakota McFadden worked four innings and struck out seven while allowing three earned runs, and Jarrod Rivera closed with a scoreless inning and three strikeouts. San Rafael starter Aaron Haynes took the loss after allowing eight earned runs on 10 hits in 4.2 innings.
The Pacifics finished with 10 hits. Don Andre Clark had three hits, Taylor Lewis had two hits and John Murray hit a home run while driving in one run. Bakersfield held San Rafael to four runs despite eight walks and finished the game with 18 strikeouts as a staff.
