July 3 2021 The Martinez Sturgeon defeated the San Rafael Pacifics 7-3 at Albert Park, scoring seven runs on nine hits. San Rafael collected six hits and opened the scoring with a run in the first inning, but Martinez took control with three runs in the fourth and added single runs in the fifth and seventh along with two in the sixth.
Daniel Arroyo led the Sturgeon offense with two hits, two runs and three RBI.
Anthony McDougle added a hit and two RBI, while
Kelvin McMiller and
Caleb Natov each drove in a run.
Kevin Roque also recorded two hits for Martinez.
San Rafael received two hits from
Kyle Ulanday and
Beau Dorman. Dorman supplied the Pacifics’ only multiple-RBI performance with one hit and one RBI, while Ulanday scored twice.
Jaden France delivered the strongest pitching performance for Martinez, allowing no hits and no runs over 4.2 innings while striking out seven and walking one.
Rene Ramirez worked three innings and allowed two runs on four hits, and Natov earned the win after pitching 1.1 innings.
Austin Fitzpatrick took the loss for San Rafael despite allowing only one earned run in five innings;
Ryan Greco was charged with three runs in two innings.
