May 30 2022 The Santa Rosa Scuba Divers defeated the San Rafael Pacifics 10-9 in a high-scoring game at Albert Park. Santa Rosa collected 11 hits and overcame San Rafael’s 12-hit attack, with the Pacifics committing no errors compared with two for the Scuba Divers.
Santa Rosa built its offense with four runs in the fifth inning and three more in the eighth. Marcus Scales went 3-for-3 with three runs scored and two walks, while Jose Romero added two hits and two RBI. T. Moreno also collected two hits and two RBI, and Max Tracey contributed a double and an RBI. Santa Rosa scored again in the seventh before its three-run eighth gave the Scuba Divers a 10-8 lead.
San Rafael took an early 5-0 lead in the second inning and added runs in the fifth and sixth, but could not hold off Santa Rosa. John Bicos led the Pacifics by going 4-for-5 with three runs, two RBI and a home run. Kyle Ulanday went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI, while Beau Dorman also had two hits.
Angel Chavez earned the win after allowing three hits and one run over three innings with two strikeouts. T. Hitchens provided 1.2 scoreless innings, and A. Dominguez worked three innings while allowing three runs, two earned. San Rafael starter Mark Dozier struck out nine in 4.2 innings but issued eight walks and was charged with five runs, three earned. Ulanday took the loss after allowing four hits and three earned runs in two innings.
