Pacifics Defeat Seaweed 9-2 Behind Ulanday Complete Game

June 16 2022 The San Rafael Pacifics defeated the Santa Cruz Seaweed 9-2 at Albert Park, scoring in five different innings to secure the victory. San Rafael collected 12 hits while Santa Cruz finished with 10, but the Pacifics built an early lead and never surrendered it.

San Rafael scored once in the first inning and added three runs in the second to take a 4-1 advantage. The Pacifics extended the lead with two runs in the fourth, one in the sixth and two in the eighth. Santa Cruz scored its runs in the second and seventh innings.

Corey Davis Jr. led the Pacifics by going 4-for-5 with four RBIs and a run scored. Beau Dorman added two hits, three RBIs, two walks and a home run, while Tyler Georgeson also homered and drove in a run. The box score also credits San Rafael with home runs by Dorman, Davis Jr. and Georgeson, along with doubles by Dorman and Jonathan Waite.

Kyle Ulanday earned the win with a complete-game performance, allowing 10 hits and two runs, one earned, while walking six and striking out 10 over nine innings. Steven Mendoza was charged with the loss for Santa Cruz after allowing four runs in three innings.
