June 13 2023 The San Rafael Pacifics scored four runs in the ninth inning to defeat the Dublin Leprechauns 9-8 at Doyle Park. San Rafael finished with 10 hits and two errors, while Dublin collected 14 hits and committed one error.
Dublin built an early 6-2 lead with three runs in each of the first two innings. San Rafael answered with two runs in the first, two in the third and one in the seventh, while Dublin added one run in the seventh to make it 7-7. The Pacifics then scored four times in the ninth, and Dublin’s one-run ninth-inning response fell short.
Kyle Montebon led Dublin with four hits, two runs and one RBI. Mark Jacob added three hits, one run and two RBI, while Isaiah Lewis had two hits, one run and two RBI. For San Rafael, Kevin Johnson, Blake Diggle and Dan Crossan each had two hits; Diggle drove in two runs, and Johnson and Cam Vollmer each had one RBI.
Simon Martinez earned the win after allowing one run on six hits in four innings while striking out six. San Rafael starter Nathan Lu allowed four runs in one inning, and Austin Fitzpatrick surrendered two runs over three innings. Dublin starter Mike Eagan worked eight innings, allowing five runs on eight hits with eight walks and eight strikeouts, before Joel Paulino took the loss after allowing four runs in the ninth.
