Pacifics Pound Sturgeon 11-1

July 21 2023 The San Rafael Pacifics defeated the Martinez Sturgeon 11-1 after collecting 12 hits and scoring in five innings. San Rafael opened with two runs in the first, added four in the fourth, two in the seventh and three in the eighth. Martinez scored its lone run in the second inning and finished with four hits and one error.

Blake Diggle led the Pacifics with two hits, a home run and three RBI. Grant Victor also homered and drove in a run, while Mike Theisen went 2-for-4 with two RBI. Kevin Johnson, Tyler Georgeson and Beau Dorman each scored at least one run, with Dorman reaching base four times on one hit and three walks. San Rafael also received two-hit efforts from Johnson, Victor, Georgeson and Theisen.

Jake Dent earned the win for San Rafael, allowing four hits and one run over 5.2 innings while striking out nine and walking one. Josh Idell followed with 2.1 scoreless innings, surrendering no hits and striking out three, and Teddy Hoxie added a scoreless ninth with two strikeouts. Brady Bibbs took the loss for Martinez after allowing six runs, four earned, on six hits in 4.1 innings.
