Pacifics Outslug Drakes 20-15

May 23 2024 The San Rafael Pacifics defeated the Marysville Drakes 20-15 in a high-scoring game at Albert Park. San Rafael collected 18 hits and scored in every inning, while Marysville finished with 10 hits and 15 runs. Marysville jumped ahead 5-0 in the first inning and added five more runs in the second. San Rafael answered with seven runs in the bottom of the second to tie the game at 10-10, then moved in front with three runs in the third. The Pacifics added three runs in the fifth and five in the seventh to secure the victory. Blake Diggle went 3-for-6 with three home runs, two runs and four RBI for San Rafael. Xavier Selway added three hits, including a triple, with two runs and four RBI. John Bicos went 2-for-5 with a double, a home run, two runs and three RBI, while Dan Crossan contributed two hits and two RBI. Marysville’s Thomas Latham went 2-for-4 with three runs and two RBI, and JD Leslie went 2-for-4 with three runs and one RBI. Karon Casey earned the win after allowing two hits and one run in 3.1 innings with three strikeouts. Marysville starter Earl Johnson took the loss after working four innings and allowing eight hits and 11 runs with six strikeouts and seven walks.
