June 19 2025 The San Rafael Pacifics defeated the Monterey Amberjacks 9-4 behind a four-hit performance from
Aki Buckson. Buckson scored four runs and drove in five, including a three-run home run that was his third homer of the game.
Chris Wright and
Mark Hernandez added three hits apiece for San Rafael, with Wright scoring twice and Hernandez contributing a run and an RBI.
San Rafael took an early lead with two runs in the first inning and added another in the third. Monterey scored once in the fifth to make it 4-1, but the Pacifics answered with two runs in the sixth and one in the seventh to extend the advantage to 7-2. Both teams scored twice in the eighth, completing the scoring.
Jake Dent earned the win for San Rafael after allowing four runs on 11 hits in eight innings. He walked none and struck out 10.
Simon Martinez finished the game with a scoreless ninth inning and three strikeouts.
Monterey collected 11 hits, led by
Ivan Verdugo and
Trenton Avitia with two apiece. Avitia drove in one run, while
Diego Fernandez had two hits and two RBIs.
Jason Hartwick took the loss after surrendering six runs on eight hits in four innings.
