The Pacifics finished with 12 hits and no errors, while Wasco had six hits and two errors.

Aaron Haynes led San Rafael with two hits and two RBI, while Ben Tsui added two hits, one run and one RBI. Tyson Thompson scored twice and reached base three times with one hit and two walks. Flaherty earned the win after allowing seven hits and five runs, three earned, in 8.2 innings. He struck out eight and walked three before Kyle Montebon recorded the final out for the save. San Rafael’s Austin Fitzpatrick homered and drove in three runs, while Brian Morley went 2-for-3 with two runs scored. Cam Ray took the loss after allowing two runs in three innings, and Josh Leveron was charged with five earned runs in four innings.

June 9 2021 The San Rafael Pacifics defeated the Martinez Sturgeon 13-11 in a high-scoring game at Joe DiMaggio Park. San Rafael collected 11 hits and scored in six innings while Martinez finished with 14 hits and five errors. The Pacifics built a 10-3 lead through seven innings before the Sturgeon rallied for seven runs in the eighth.

Michael Theisen paced San Rafael with two hits including a home run two runs and three RBI. Jacob Woehler added two hits and three RBI while Don Andre Clark had two hits scored three runs and stole three bases. Aaron Haynes contributed two hits and one RBI, and the Pacifics totaled 10 walks.

Martinez received a standout performance from Kaelin Robinson, who went 4-for-5 with a home run and four RBI. Anthony McDougle had two hits and two RBI, while Caleb Natov and Jason Hare each added two hits. The Sturgeon scored once in the third fourth sixth and ninth innings before their seven-run eighth brought them within two runs entering the final frame.

Haynes earned the win for San Rafael after allowing eight hits and eight runs seven earned in 7.1 innings. He walked four and struck out 10. Kyle Ulanday recorded the save despite allowing six hits and three runs, one earned, over 1.2 innings while striking out three. Ernest Quintana took the loss for Martinez after surrendering five runs in 1.1 innings.

By Carter Cromwell Like all teams, the San Rafael Pacifics have undergone many changes since their inaugural season of 2012 – players arriving and moving on, different managers, changes in ownership, and more. But at least one thing hasn"t changed – public address announcer Mark Carlson has been at the microphone each year and is on board for the upcoming 2021 season.

"I"ve always had a great time doing Pacifics games, and it will be even more fun getting back into the booth after not having a season in 2020 because of Covid-19."

As with most everyone, the pandemic derailed a lot of Carlson"s activities, though he continued coaching freshman and junior varsity basketball at the Branson School, a private institution in Marin County. He also did public address early this year when Dominican University of San Rafael had short basketball and volleyball seasons, and he"s currently working the school"s softball games.

But he was greatly missed when Covid-19 caused cancellation of the Pacifics" 2020 season.
