The San Rafael Pacifics defeated the visiting Santa Rosa Scuba Divers on Tuesday night 16-9. The
Pacifics move to 16-3 on the season and maintain their spot on top of the Pacific Division in the
Pecos League.
The charge was lead tonight by third baseman Tyler Georgeson. The Scuba Divers pitching staff
struggled with their command throughout the evening. In the second inning, they walked the bases
loaded and proceeded to walk a total of five runs in after that. Georgeson took advantage of that
situation, bringing everyone home on a grand slam that broke the game open for the Pacifics. In the
second inning alone, San Rafael scored nine runs.
"I knew he walked a couple batters, but I knew he was going to try and attack me early," said
Georgeson after the game. "It was just a matter of how far it went."
Georgeson on his next at bat once again hit the sweet spot, hitting his second home run of the game
in the fourth inning. He finished the night 3-5 with two home runs and six RBIs. Georgeson now has a
team-leading nine home runs on the season.
"I was just seeing the ball like a beach ball tonight," said Georgeson, "I was getting up there,
attacking early and seeing what damage I could do."
Along with Georgeson in the fourth inning, pitcher and player-manager Kyle Ulandy and first baseman
Beau Dormin also hit home runs for San Rafael on the night. In total, the Pacifics hit four home
runs against Scuba Diving pitching, taking advantage of hitters counts.
On the mound for the Pacifics was winning pitcher Ulandy. Santa Rosa took advantage of Ulandys
first pitch strikes in the first inning. They scored four runs on six hits. However, Ulandy started
mixing up his first pitch approach, eventually throwing off Scuba Diver hitters the rest of the way
through. After the first inning, Ulandy only gave up six more hits, three earned runs and struck out
seven.
"I was trying to live lower in the zone in the last couple of innings," said Ulandy, "I knew that
they were just looking for something elevated to swing at and if they put a good piece of wood on
it, it was going to go for a hit."
The Pacifics once again finished with 12 hits, another double digit hit night at Albert Park on the
season. Georgeson and Corey Davis Jr. led the team with three hits each on the night. Dormin and
Ulandy finished with two hits, including five RBIs in the game from Dormin.
The Pacifics look to win back-to-back games against the Scuba Divers on the road on Thursday and
return to Albert Park on Friday to face off against Santa Cruz. San Rafael continues to stay hot to
start the season.

The San Rafael Pacifics continued their winning ways once again beating the Santa Rosa Scuba Divers
7-6 for the third time at Albert Park in the span of a week. The Pacifcs now move to 8-1 on the
season with their sixth straight win.
The Pacifics scored their first run of the night without recording a hit in the bottom of the first.
After getting on base by a walk, left fielder Jalil Marinez ended up scoring on a fielding error by
Santa Rosa for an early 1-0 lead.
In the very next inning, John Bicos kicked off what would be a big night at the plate. Bicos, who
came in hitting .341 and leading the team in home runs with three, added another home run to his
stat sheet in the second inning on a no-doubter to left. He also picked up another RBI in the fourth
on a base hit to left field. On the night, Bicos finished 2-4 with a home run, two RBIs, and two
runs scored.
"Im just looking for good pitches to hit," said Bicos after the game. "Ive gotten them so far and
luckily Ive been able to do something with them."
On the mound tonight for San Rafael was Jayson Summers, who has been the ace so far for the Pacifics
early in the season. Summers, who has had some command issues on the season, pounded the strike zone
early and established himself on the mound. Through six innings, Summers struck out six while
walking two batters and only giving up one run. Summers now has his second win on the season and
through 17 innings pitched this year boasts an impressive Pecos league ERA of 2.64.
Summers, a two-way player in college, once again produced at the plate as he knocked in a run in the
third with a solid single. He now has a .444 batting average with four RBIs on the season, providing
a consistency for the Pacifics both in the box and on the mound.
"I was still a two-way player just in case," said Summers, "but pitching has always really been my
thing so I just stuck with that and I just hit whenever I can."
However, it was not all smooth sailing for the Pacifics. San Rafael was up 7-3 in the top of ninth
in what ended up being a snow ball inning. After walking the bases loaded, San Rafael ended up
walking in three runs which cut the lead to only one run with two outs. On a 3-2 count with the game
on the line, relief pitcher Christian Johnson threw a fastball that was swung on and missed giving
the Pacifics the win.
The Pacifics once again found themselves hitting the ball well on Tuesday night. They scored seven
runs on 12 hits. Out of their nine games on the season, the Pacifics have had double digit hits in
seven of them, proving that they are a team that have hitters up and down the line-up.
"We always tell the guys to just make good contact with the ball," said player-manager Kyle Ulandy.
"Good things happen when you make good contact."
Along with Bicos, first baseman Beau Dormin ended up scoring twice along with his two doubles.
Shortstop Corey Davis Jr. also added two hits on the night and an RBI. He is now hitting .477, which
is the highest batting average on the team.
The Pacifics next will face off against the Martinez Sturgeon on the road Thursday. They will then
come home for two games, once again against the Sturgeon in a Pecos league-styled series. The
Sturgeon come in with a 1-7 record, including three losses against the Pacifics. San Rafael will
look to keep their winning streak alive on Thursday.

The San Rafael Pacifics won their home opener Sunday night in a high scoring affair beating the Martinez Sturgeons 10-7. The Pacifics now move to 3-0 to start the 2022 season.
The bats for the Pacifics got going early. After finding themselves down by a run in the first inning, lead-off hitter Jahilil Marinez hit a ground rule double off Stuergons pitcher and former professional pitcher for the Colorado Rockies, Manny Corpas.
With an out on the board, shortstop Corey Davis Jr. knocked a single past the second baseman to score Marinez and tie the game. San Rafael tacked on three more runs in the first inning with a double by centerfielder Tyson Thompson scoring two runs and a single by catcher Jonathan Waite, which scored Thompson and gave the Pacifics a 4-1 lead.
The starting pitcher for the Pacifics, Kohoto Hasgawa early on found himself behind in the count, forcing him to throw strikes down the middle that Martinez was able to take advantage of. The Sturgeons responded with a four run inning in the second.
With the Pacifics down 5-4 in the bottom of the third, rightfielder John Bicos hit a solo shot to left field, knotting the score at five.
"He was throwing a lot of off-speed and I was expecting it,c said Bicos after the game, "the pitch came and I got to hit it out."
Pitchers for both Martinez and San Rafael started to settle in as the game approached the middle innings. While Martinez stuck with Corpas, the Pacifics turned to their bullpen in the top of the fifth with Eric Parnow and then reliever John Murray took over in the sixth. Although both pitchers were missing at times, their ability to fight back in the count kept the Sturgeons off-balance.
Murray ran into some trouble in the seventh inning. After walking a batter, Sturgeon first baseman Rafael Rameriez ripped a two run home run giving them a 7-5 lead.
The Pacifics did not let this get to them. In the top of the seventh, San Rafael took advantage of Corpas, who had already thrown 113 pitches up to this point. He did not have the same velocity or break on his pitches that he had earlier in the game.
The Pacifcs loaded the bases with one out. Manager and thirdbaseman Kyle Ulanday hit a bloop double down the right field line that cleared the bases and gave the Pacifics the lead, 8-7.
"I was trying to put the ball in play and do anything to help my team win," said Ulandy. "That pitch got in my hands and got me a little fisted, but it worked out."
With two outs, Davis Jr. drove in another run with an RBI single off Corpas glove and into center field, scoring Ulanday and giving the Pacifcs a 9-7 lead.
The Pacifics tallied on another run in the bottom of the eighth, giving their opening night crowd plenty to cheer for. In total, the San Rafael offense tallied a total of 17 hits.
The Pacifics were excited to have their crowd back in the stands for the first time for another season. And the crowd brought the energy needed for San Rafael to make their comeback.
"Coming back to San Rafael is always nice," said Marinez, "to see the community coming back and knowing that we are actually here again. Them showing up is a huge help for us playing because we enjoy having fans and were trying to give them a show."
The Pacifcs play their next game on Monday night against the newly added Pecos League Santa Rosa Scuba Divers at Alberts Park. They will look to continue their offensive productivity Monday, the same offense that kept their home crowd cheering.
